The 1915 Indian Head Quarter Eagle is the tenth subject within the collection. Additionally it is the ultimate subject of the quarter eagle denomination to be struck in Proof.
The United States Mint at Philadelphia produced 606,000 enterprise strike Indian Head Quarter Eagles in 1915, making this subject middle-of-the-road when it comes to total shortage.
The date is often well-struck and has common luster for collection. Yellow gold is attribute of the difficulty. CoinWeek describes the general high quality of the 1915 Indian Head Quarter Eagle as “common.”
In David Akers’ United States Gold Cash: An Evaluation of Public sale Data, Quantity II: Quarter Eagles 1796-1929 (1975), the Hall of Fame gold coin knowledgeable claimed that this date rated ninth out of 15 for Gems. Practically 50 years later, Akers’ observations maintain up. In a March 2024 survey of third-party grading service census knowledge, the 1915 Indian Head Quarter Eagles ranks eighth out 15.

Market Information and Noteworthy Specimens
As of November 2013, PCGS had licensed 140 1915 quarter eagles at MS65, with eight graded larger. As of March 2024, that quantity had grown to 213 items at MS65, with 25 graded finer, and as of January 2025, 4 extra items have been added to the census. The MS66 populations at PCGS and NGC have risen steadily over the identical time interval. No instance has graded larger than MS66 at any of the three main grading providers.
